Terms

What a seat is, and what it asks of you.

A seat in The Pit is a commitment to four other women and two founders for the seven weeks of the pilot. This page says what you get, what you owe the room, and what we will not claim. It is written to be read before you decide, not after.

Last reviewed 4 October 2026.

Not everything is settled yet

The pilot schedule is announced. Legal details and the final demo date still need confirmation. Those gaps are marked below. The full terms are published with the offer, before anyone accepts a seat.

Who you are agreeing with

The Pit is run by Alicia Dahling and Leslie Ali Walker. These terms cover a seat in the free pilot. They apply from the moment you accept an offer.

What we do with your information is a separate page, the privacy notice, and it is part of this agreement.

  • Not announced yet. The operating company is named here before the first offer goes out.

What a seat is

Seven weeks. Sundays 2:00–3:30 PM ET on Zoom. Started October 25, 2026. Week 1: meet the crew and spend about 20 minutes setting up your own Dahlia with guided help. Bring a laptop. Weeks 2–7: each member gets a focused turn on her own project with the full crew. Week 7 also wraps up and prepares demos. Up to 30 minutes of agreed work between sessions.

5 participants and both founders, Alicia Dahling and Leslie Ali Walker. A final demo is planned at Willa's Built by Willa event. No date is confirmed.

Each woman gets a focused turn on her own project, with the full support of the crew.

You keep 100% ownership of your idea. Questions: use alicia@dahlingconsulting.com or lesliealiwalkerwork@gmail.com, or the Talk with a founder form at jointhepit.com/talk.

A seat also gives you a private workspace for the whole cohort: your project, your goals, your promises and their dates, your files, the feedback you are given, and Dahlia, your own guide.

  • Not announced yet. Dates and the meeting hour are published with the offer.

What is expected of you

This is a working crew, so a seat is a commitment to the other women in it.

Sundays 2:00–3:30 PM ET on Zoom, 1.5 hours a week. Separate from that, plan on up to 30 minutes of agreed work between sessions for your own next step and the specific help you offered someone else.

  • Come to the meetings, and tell the founders in advance when you cannot.
  • Bring real work, including the unfinished version and the problem you hit.
  • Keep the two promises you make each week: your own next step, and the contribution you offered someone else.
  • Give input when it is invited, and hold back when it is not. The focused turn belongs to the person in the hot seat.
  • What is said in the room stays in the room. Do not repeat another participant's work, numbers or plans outside it.

What we do not promise

You will do the work. We will not do it for you, and nobody here guarantees a result.

We do not promise a finished product, income, funding, customers or any other outcome. Nothing said in a meeting is legal, tax, accounting or investment advice, and a seat is not a professional engagement with either founder.

Price and payment

The first group is a free pilot. Pilot seats are complimentary and no payment is asked for. If a later program is paid, the price and how it is paid are published with the offer, before anyone is asked for money. No card is ever charged from this site without an offer you accepted.

Payment is taken on a payment provider's own checkout page. Your seat is confirmed once the payment is recorded, not when the page says thank you.

  • Not announced yet. The price is published with the offer.
  • Not announced yet. How the seat is paid is published with the offer.

Complimentary seats

The founders may offer some seats at no charge, for example in a first cohort run to test the program. A complimentary seat is marked as complimentary on your offer. No card is needed and nothing is paid.

You accept a complimentary seat yourself, in your workspace, and you agree to these same terms. The commitments are the same as a paid seat: come to the meetings you can, take your hot seat, and follow through on the contributions you agree to for the other women.

Because nothing is paid, there is nothing to refund. If you need to stop part way through, tell the founders so your place and your hot seat can be planned around.

Holding a seat

When we offer you a seat it is held for a stated time. If it is not paid in that time the hold expires on its own and the seat goes back into the room.

A seat is not transferable to another person.

  • Not announced yet. How long a seat is held is stated in the offer itself.

Changing your mind, and leaving early

The window to change your mind and get everything back is published with the offer.

After that the seat is yours for the cohort. Life happens, so if you have to stop part way through, tell the founders. We will deal with it in writing, case by case, and anything we agree is recorded.

What happens to your money if we do not run the cohort is published with the offer.

If a meeting has to move

We may move a meeting, and we will tell you as early as we can. The shape of the program stays the same: every participant keeps her focused turn.

If you cannot make your own hot seat, tell the founders and we will find another slot in the cohort if one exists.

Your work stays yours

Everything you bring and everything you make is yours. Taking a seat gives us no claim on it, no share of it and no licence to use it.

We will ask you first, in writing, before using your name, your project or anything you showed in the room in anything public. You can say no and keep your seat.

The material we give you, the handbook, the run sheets and the templates, is for you to use in your own work. It is not for resale or for running your own version of the program.

Recording only with notice and agreement

Sessions are recorded or transcribed only after a notice for that specific session and each person's own agreement. Founders control access to any recording, and nothing is shared publicly without separate permission. Accepting the pilot agreement is not consent to be recorded. Otherwise, what survives a meeting is typed notes. Actions from a meeting become tasks only after a founder approves them and the person they belong to accepts them.

Do not record a meeting yourself. It changes what people are willing to say. No AI assistant joins a session unless that is announced for the session first.

Dahlia, and your private workspace

Dahlia is software, not a person, and she can be wrong. Check anything that matters before you act on it. She cannot take money, grant access, accept anyone into a cohort or message anyone on your behalf.

Your conversations with her and what she remembers about you belong to your account. The founders cannot read them. What is sent to the model provider that writes her replies, and what you can delete, is set out in the privacy notice.

Dahlia is included with your active free pilot seat. Your project, notes, files and private conversations stay yours. Format and price for later cohorts will be announced after the pilot.

Conduct

Treat the other women in the room the way you want to be treated when it is your hour.

If someone's behaviour makes the room unsafe or unusable, the founders can remove her from the cohort. We will say why, in writing. Money is handled under the refund section above.

Changes to these terms, and questions

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. The terms that applied when you paid continue to apply to that cohort.

Questions about a seat go through the contact page, or to the founders directly if you are already talking with us.

  • Not announced yet. Until an address is published, questions go through the contact page.

What we hold about you, and how to take it back, is on the privacy notice. How applying works is on the applying page.
